Tax from Skatteverket – Tax Table and Adjustment Fetched for You
Categories and articles
Vendion Payroll (Vendion Lön) fetches the tax form, tax table and tax adjustment (jämkning) for your employees directly from Skatteverket, the Swedish Tax Agency, when you run payroll and when you add a new employee. You no longer need to copy the tax table from each person's tax decision.
It applies to the months Vendion Payroll handles the pay, and already before Vendion Payroll is activated once the company has chosen it (see Before activation below). With Fortnox Payroll or another payroll system nothing is fetched (see Fortnox Payroll and other payroll systems below). It is included in Vendion Payroll and needs no extra module.
What is fetched
The information is fetched with Skatteverket's service Fråga om skatteavdrag (tax deduction request). For each employee Vendion gets:
- tax form: A-skatt, F-skatt or FA-skatt,
- tax table,
- tax adjustment: a decision on tax deduction at a set percentage, with the dates the decision applies.
Skatteverket does not provide the tax column or whether the pay is main income or secondary income. They stay on the staff record and are filled in as before.
Decisions Skatteverket does not send, such as SINK, extra tax at the employee's request, the increased deduction and student certificates (SKV 434), are entered under Skattebeslut (tax decisions) on the staff record as before (see Tax Decisions – Adjustment, SINK, Student Certificate and Extra Tax). They apply as before.
When the information is fetched
- When you start a payroll run. Before a live run is calculated, Vendion fetches the tax for the year the pay is paid out. The Underlag (basis) step shows how it went, for example Skatt hämtad från Skatteverket för 14 av 15. 1 saknas i Skatteverkets register. (Tax fetched from Skatteverket for 14 of 15. 1 is missing from Skatteverket's register.), and the Hämta skatten nu (fetch the tax now) button fetches again. A trial run fetches nothing and calculates the tax from the staff record.
- When you add a new employee. A notification tells you how it went.
- When you press Hämta nu (fetch now), on the staff record for one person or in the Skatt från Skatteverket card for everyone. This fetches the information for the current year.
Someone with F-skatt or FA-skatt at Skatteverket is not counted as fetched, because the payroll run stops the person (see the table below). The summary then says, for example, Skatt hämtad från Skatteverket för 13 av 15. 1 person har F-skatt eller FA-skatt hos Skatteverket och behöver kontrolleras på personalkortet. 1 saknas i Skatteverkets register. (Tax fetched from Skatteverket for 13 of 15. 1 person has F-skatt or FA-skatt at Skatteverket and needs checking on the staff record. 1 is missing from Skatteverket's register.) The line about the latest fetch in the Underlag step counts the same way, and for a new employee with F-skatt or FA-skatt the notification is a warning with the payroll run's text.
The fetch is always started by someone at your company. Vendion fetches nothing at night. Vendion only asks about people employed by the company in Vendion or paid by the company during the year. The fetch takes place within the EU.
A person without a valid personal identity number on the staff record is not fetched, and that does not stop the fetch for the others. After Hämta nu in the Skatt från Skatteverket card, the card lists who this applies to: Saknar personnummer (missing personal identity number) with the names, and Kom inte med (not included) for anyone whose number does not have twelve digits or whose employment lies outside the year. Correct the staff record and press Hämta nu again. If the same person has staff records at two of the company's restaurants, Vendion asks once and the answer applies to both records.
Turn the fetch on
Go to Personal › Inställningar › Lönesystem (staff, settings, payroll system) and press Hantera Vendion Lön (manage Vendion Payroll) below the table. The Skatt från Skatteverket card is on the Vendion Payroll page once the company is confirmed and Vendion has enabled the feature for the company. The Personalen (staff) step in the Vendion Payroll guide has the link Gå till Skatt från Skatteverket (go to tax from Skatteverket), which takes you to the card.
The card explains what is fetched and why:
Uppgifterna hämtas med Skatteverkets tjänst Fråga om skatteavdrag. Vi hämtar bara uppgifter om personer som är anställda hos er i Vendion, och bara för att dra rätt preliminärskatt på deras lön. Skatteverket loggar varje fråga och sparar loggen i fem år.
(The information is fetched with Skatteverket's service Fråga om skatteavdrag. We only fetch information about people employed by you in Vendion, and only to deduct the correct preliminary tax from their pay. Skatteverket logs every request and keeps the log for five years.)
Tick Jag bekräftar att vi använder uppgifterna bara för skatteavdrag på lön till våra anställda. (I confirm that we use the information only for tax deduction on pay to our employees) and press Slå på hämtningen (turn the fetch on). The confirmation is saved with your name and the time, and the card shows Påslagen sedan (turned on since) with the date. Turning the fetch on and pressing Hämta nu require the permission to edit payroll data. Without it the card says Hämtningen slås på av någon som får ändra lönen i bolaget. (The fetch is turned on by someone allowed to change pay in the company.)
Stäng av hämtningen (turn the fetch off) in the same card turns it off. The tax is then calculated from the staff record again.
Before activation
You do not need to wait until Vendion Payroll is activated. When the company is confirmed for Vendion Payroll and no other payroll system (Fortnox Payroll, PAXML or Visma Lön 600) is chosen for this month in any of the company's restaurants, you can turn the fetch on and fetch the tax during the start-up. Both Hämta nu and the automatic fetch when you add a new employee then work. The Personalen (staff) step in the guide updates when Skatteverket's answer has arrived.
On the staff record, the Skatt från Skatteverket box with Hämta nu and Korrigera för hand is shown during the start-up when no other payroll system is chosen for this or next month. The tax decisions on the staff record are shown only after activation.
On the staff record
On the Lön och skatt (pay and tax) tab, in the Skatt (tax) card, the Skatt från Skatteverket box with the year is shown when the fetch is turned on. It shows Skatteverket's information, for example A-skatt, tabell 33, jämkning 25 % (A tax, table 33, adjustment 25 %), and when it was fetched: Från Skatteverket · hämtad 3 nov 2026 (from Skatteverket, fetched 3 Nov 2026). If nothing has been fetched yet it says Ingen uppgift från Skatteverket för 2026 än. (No information from Skatteverket for 2026 yet.) The box has the buttons Hämta nu and Korrigera för hand (correct by hand).
If the person has F-skatt or FA-skatt at Skatteverket, the box shows Stoppar lönekörningen (stops the payroll run) with the same text as the payroll run: Personen har F-skatt eller FA-skatt hos Skatteverket. Kontrollera vad som gäller och korrigera skatten för hand på personalkortet. (The person has F-skatt or FA-skatt at Skatteverket. Check what applies and correct the tax by hand on the staff record.) Press Korrigera för hand and write why. The tax is then calculated on the staff record's tax table and column, and the warning disappears. Without the permission to change the person's pay, the box says that someone who may change the pay solves it with Korrigera för hand.
The payslip shows where the tax information comes from: Skatteuppgift från Skatteverket, hämtad 3 nov 2026 (tax information from Skatteverket, fetched 3 Nov 2026) or Skatteuppgift korrigerad för hand (tax information corrected by hand). The payroll journal shows the source for each person, in the PDF after Skatt: (tax) and in the CSV file in the Skattekälla (tax source) column: Skatteverket, hämtad 3 nov 2026, Korrigerad för hand (corrected by hand) or Personalkortet (the staff record).
Correct by hand
Skatteverket's information applies. If it is not right for a person, a payroll administrator can correct that person by hand:
- Enter the correct tax table or tax decision on the staff record.
- Press Korrigera för hand in the Skatt från Skatteverket box, write the reason under Varför korrigerar du? (why are you correcting?) and press Korrigera (correct). The dialog says: Skatteverkets uppgift används inte för den här personen förrän du tar bort korrigeringen. (Skatteverket's information is not used for this person until you remove the correction.)
While the correction applies, Vendion Payroll calculates the tax on the staff record's tax table and column and the decisions under Skattebeslut (tax decisions). That holds even if Skatteverket later sends newer information. The box then shows both Skatteverket's information and the staff record's table, so you see the difference, with the label Korrigerad för hand and who made the correction, when and why. The payroll run shows the warning Skatten räknas på personalkortet: Skatteverkets uppgift är korrigerad för hand (the tax is calculated from the staff record: Skatteverket's information has been corrected by hand) next to the person.
A correction applies to one income year. Press Ta bort korrigeringen… (remove the correction) and write why. Skatteverket's information is used again from the next payroll run.
A payroll administrator cannot fetch, correct or remove a correction on their own staff record, nor on another record with the same personal identity number. Ask an administrator to do it.
What Skatteverket's answer means for you
| The answer | What happens in payroll | What you do |
|---|---|---|
| A-skatt with a tax table | Tax is deducted according to Skatteverket's table. A tax adjustment from Skatteverket applies on the days the decision covers | Nothing |
| Your own adjustment decision under Skattebeslut has a different percentage than Skatteverket's adjustment, or Skatteverket has no adjustment for the person | The person's pay is stopped | Check which decision applies. End the one that does not apply, or correct by hand |
| An adjustment exists but cannot be shown | The tax table comes from Skatteverket. The pay is stopped until the adjustment is entered | Ask the person for the adjustment decision and enter it under Skattebeslut |
| F-skatt or FA-skatt | The person's pay is stopped | Check what applies to the person, enter it on the staff record and correct by hand |
| The identity number is wrong, the person is not in Skatteverket's register, or the information cannot be shown (for example for someone living abroad) | The person's pay is stopped, with Skatteverket's explanation | Check the identity number and press Hämta nu. If the number is right: ask the person for their tax decision, enter the table or the decision (for example SINK or the increased deduction) and correct by hand |
| Skatteverket could not answer just now, for example during maintenance | The person's pay is stopped | Press Hämta nu again in a while |
| No information for the year the pay is paid out | The person's pay is stopped | Press Hämta nu on the staff record, or correct by hand |
The last three rows only stop someone whose tax is calculated from the tax table. If the person has secondary income, SINK or a student certificate, the tax is calculated from the staff record as before.
The stops are shown under Avvikelser (deviations) in the payroll run, with a link to the person's Lön och skatt tab.
When a finalized pay is corrected
If a change to a finalized pay becomes a correction (see Change the Pay in Vendion Payroll), the tax is calculated with the same tax information as the pay you correct: the same answer from Skatteverket, the same manual correction, or the staff record if the tax was calculated there. If Skatteverket has sent newer information since then, or no longer provides information for that year, it does not change the tax in the correction and does not stop it.
An extra run calculates the same way, with the tax information from the finalized pay for the same month worked, when it is paid out in the same year. If the extra run is paid out in another year, the information for that year is used.
A person who had no tax in the pay you correct, for example because the person was not included, is calculated with today's information. If the tax was calculated from the staff record, the record's values today apply, as in every correction.
The turn of the year
Skatteverket provides next year's information from mid-December. Vendion Payroll always calculates on the information for the year the pay is paid out:
- Pay paid out in December is calculated on this year's information, even when next year's has already been fetched.
- Pay paid out in January needs the new year's information. It is fetched when you start the payroll run. If it is missing, the person's pay is stopped. Vendion never uses last year's information for a new year's pay.
- Someone who left in December and gets their last pay in January also has the new year's information fetched, since they are paid by the company that year.
Fortnox Payroll and other payroll systems
If Fortnox Payroll handles the pay for the month, Vendion fetches nothing from Skatteverket. Fortnox then owns the tax table and tax column and sends them back every night, as before (see Connect Fortnox Lön). With a PAXML file or Visma Lön 600 nothing is fetched either: the tax is entered in your payroll system.
