X-Report – Reading Without Reset
Categories and articles
An X-report is a snapshot of the register's current status – without resetting anything.
What the X-report shows:
- Total sales since the last Z-report
- Breakdown by payment method (cash, card, Swish)
- Number of transactions
- VAT breakdown for the rates used
- Discounts and returns
- Current cash balance
Create an X-report:
- Go to Admin → Bokföring → Dagsavslut → X/Z-rapporter
- Click Ta ut X-rapport (Generate X report)
- The report is shown immediately in a dialog. It is saved in the fiscal journal as a reading; counters and the day-end close are unchanged
In the POS: Open the POS menu → Skapa X/Z (create X/Z). There you preview the day's register and press Skriv ut X-rapport (print X report). If the logged-in account lacks permission, the POS asks for the PIN of a staff member who may create X reports (Godkänn X-rapport, approve X report).
Difference vs Z-report:
| X-report | Z-report | |
|---|---|---|
| Resets the register | No | Yes |
| Saved in fiscal journal | Yes | Yes |
| Can run multiple times/day | Yes | Normally one daily close |
| Purpose | Check during the day | Day-end |
When to use X-report:
- During the day to reconcile the register
- At shift changes
- If you want to check sales without closing the day
- If you suspect a cash discrepancy
Tips:
- Run an X-report before lunch and before evening for good control
- Compare the X-report's cash balance with physical cash
- The X-report resets nothing and does not close the day – it is saved as a reading in the fiscal journal
This feature is part of Vendion POS.
