Ticket Destinations – Kitchen Routing
2 min read#55
Ticket destinations control where orders are sent – to the right kitchen, bar or station. Manage them under Settings → Ticket Destinations.
What is a ticket destination?
- A logical place where tickets are sent (e.g. "Kitchen", "Bar", "Dessert")
- Linked to a device (KDS screen or ticket printer)
- Menu items are assigned to the right destination
Create a ticket destination:
- Go to Settings → Ticket Destinations
- Click + New ticket destination
- Fill in:
- Name (e.g. "Kitchen", "Bar", "Dessert")
- Type – KDS (digital screen) or Printer (physical ticket)
- Device – Which KDS screen or printer receives tickets
- Click Save
Types of ticket destinations:
| Type | Description | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| KDS | Ticket displayed digitally on a kitchen screen | Kitchen with screen |
| Printer | Ticket printed on a ticket printer | Kitchen without screen, bar |
Assign menu items to destinations:
- Open a menu item under Settings → Menu → Products
- Select Ticket destination in the dropdown
- Save the item
Example setup:
| Destination | Type | Device | Items |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kitchen | KDS | KDS Kitchen | All food dishes |
| Bar | Printer | Ticket Printer Bar | Drinks, cocktails |
| Dessert | KDS | KDS Kitchen | Desserts |
How it works:
- Staff places an order with pasta and a cocktail
- The pasta is sent to "Kitchen" (KDS screen)
- The cocktail is sent to "Bar" (ticket printer)
- Each station only sees their orders
Tips:
- Set a ticket destination on ALL menu items – otherwise they won't appear in the kitchen
- An item can only have one ticket destination
- Test by placing a test order and verifying the ticket arrives at the right place
