    Configure Kitchen Screens (KDS)

    A kitchen screen (KDS – Kitchen Display System) shows orders in real-time for kitchen staff. No printing needed.

    Create a KDS workstation:

    1. Go to Settings → Devices & Hardware → Kitchen screens (KDS)
    2. Click + New kitchen screen
    3. Fill in:
      • Name (e.g. "KDS Kitchen", "KDS Bar")
      • Ticket destinations (which orders are shown here)
    4. Click Save

    Link to ticket destinations:

    • A KDS shows orders from its linked ticket destinations
    • E.g. "KDS Kitchen" shows tickets from the "Kitchen" destination
    • A KDS can show multiple destinations (e.g. Kitchen + Dessert)

    How orders are displayed:

    • Orders appear as cards with item name, quantity and any modifiers
    • New orders appear on the left
    • Time since order is shown
    • Staff marks items as done by clicking

    Workflow:

    1. Staff places an order in the POS
    2. The ticket is sent to the correct KDS based on ticket destination
    3. Kitchen staff sees the order on screen
    4. When the dish is ready, the chef marks it as delivered
    5. The status updates in the POS in real-time

    Tips:

    • One KDS per station (Kitchen, Bar, Dessert) gives the best overview
    • KDS requires no printer – everything is displayed digitally
    • Place the screen where kitchen staff can easily see it
