    Working with KDS

    Move orders through the kitchen workflow.

    Step by step:

    1. A new order appears in the Ordered column
    2. Start cooking – move to Cooking (click or drag)
    3. When the dish is ready – move to Ready to serve
    4. The server sees the dish is ready and serves it

    Routing:

    • Each menu item has an assigned ticket destination (e.g. "Kitchen", "Bar", "Dessert")
    • KDS only shows items destined for your station
    • Identical items (same dish, variant, modifiers) are grouped with a quantity badge

    Tip: Focus on the "Ordered" column – that's the queue of waiting dishes. Move to "Cooking" as soon as you start to give servers accurate status info.
