Kitchen Display (KDS) – Overview

KDS (Kitchen Display System) is a kitchen screen showing all orders in real-time.
Three columns:
| Column | Status | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Ordered | Waiting | New orders that just came in |
| Cooking | In progress | Kitchen is working on the dish |
| Ready | Ready to serve | Ready for service |
Each ticket shows:
- Table number or tab name (large font)
- Time since order (updates every 5 seconds)
- Receipt number
- Server's name
- Guest name and phone (if linked)
- Items with quantities
- Variants (e.g. "Burger (No onions)") in yellow text
- Modifiers with prices
- Kitchen notes in red italic text
Sound: A sound plays when new orders come in.
