Discounts

Add a discount to a single item or the entire order. Discounts are capability-gated in Vendion – both preset and open discounts require the relevant permission. A colleague who has that permission can approve with their PIN if you do not.

Item discount:

1. Click on an item in the cart
2. Choose Discount
3. Enter percentage (e.g. 10%) or fixed amount (e.g. 50 SEK)
4. The discount is shown on the line and deducted from the line total

Order discount:

1. Click Discount in the quick buttons
2. Choose a preset discount or enter a custom value
3. The discount applies to the entire order and is shown above the total

Preset vs open discounts (permissions):

The POS automatically triggers a dialog titled "You lack permission" with a "Manager approval required" badge if the signed-in user lacks the right permission.

How the manager PIN works:

1. A junior server tries to give a customer a 50% open discount
2. The POS blocks the action and shows the "You lack permission" dialog with a "Manager approval required" badge
3. A colleague with the required permission enters their PIN
4. The discount is applied and both names are logged in the journal memory (server + approver)
5. If no manager is available, the action can be cancelled

Where are permissions set? Admin → Users → "Permission groups" tab (/admin/anvandare) → choose group → POS section. There you tick "Open discount" for e.g. the "Shift manager" group but leave it unchecked for "Part-time staff".

Follow up discounts: Check the discount and total on the tab before payment. Ask the restaurant manager to follow up discounts in sales reports.

Tips:

• Set up clear presets ("Lunch 15%", "Staff 30%") so staff have clear choices
• Check the discount conditions, including validity and eligible products.
• A 100% discount can require separate permission to comp an item.
