Overview – Menu Management

Menu management in Vendion is organized in three levels: menu groups → items → modifier groups. Access it via Menu in admin.

The hierarchy:

1. Main groups (Huvudmeny) – e.g. Food, Drinks, Dessert
2. Subgroups (Undermeny) – e.g. Starters, Mains, Salads (under Food)
3. Items – e.g. Caesar Salad, Pasta Carbonara
4. Modifier groups – e.g. "Choose sauce" with options Béarnaise, Pepper sauce

Menu groups have two levels: main group and subgroup. A main group has either subgroups or items of its own – if it has subgroups, the items live in them. Every item is saved in a menu group, and the group determines where the item appears in the POS and in online ordering. See Create and Manage Menu Groups.

How the menu appears in the POS:

• Main groups are shown as buttons beside the menu (on a phone, in a row at the top), with subgroups in a row above the items
• Items are shown as cards in the grid
• Modifiers and variants appear as a dialog when clicking an item

Tip: Start by creating your menu groups, then items, and finally modifier groups. This makes it easier to link everything together.
