Modifier Groups

Modifier groups let guests customize their order. Manage them under Meny → Produkter → Tillvalsgrupper (menu → products → modifier groups).

Examples of modifier groups:

• "Choose sauce" – Béarnaise, Pepper sauce, Red wine sauce (min 1, max 1)
• "Extras" – Extra cheese (+15 SEK), Bacon (+20 SEK), Avocado (+25 SEK) (min 0, max 3)
• "Cooking" – Rare, Medium, Well done (min 1, max 1)

Create a modifier group:

1. Go to Menu → Products → Modifier groups
2. Click + Ny grupp (new group)
3. Enter group name (e.g. "Choose sauce")
4. Set Minimum selections (e.g. 0 = optional, 1 = required)
5. Set Maximum selections (e.g. 1 = just one, 3 = up to three)
6. Add modifiers:
   • Name (e.g. "Béarnaise")
   • Price adjustment (e.g. +15 SEK or 0 for included)
   • Mark optional default selection
7. Click Save

Link modifier group to items:

1. Open an item under Products
2. Open the Tillval & recept tab (add-ons & recipe)
3. Click + Add modifier group
4. Select the group from the list
5. Save the item

Global vs item-specific groups:

• A modifier group can be linked to multiple items (e.g. "Choose sauce" on all meat dishes)
• Changes to the group apply to all linked items

Settings:

How modifiers are shown:

• Each group states its rule in plain words: Valfritt (optional), Valfritt, upp till 3 (optional, up to 3), Välj 1 (choose 1), Välj 2–3 (choose 2–3) or Välj minst 1 (choose at least 1). A required group comes first and is marked Obligatoriskt (required) until something is chosen.
• If a required choice is missing, the button says for example Välj sås (choose sauce) instead of Lägg till (add). Tapping it takes you to the group.
• Online ordering: the first part is open (the ingredients, otherwise the first group) and the rest are folded. A folded row shows the rule or what the guest has chosen. Modifiers are rows with a round button when only one may be chosen and a checkbox when the guest may choose several.
• POS: choose under Visning i kassan (display in the POS) on the product's Tillval & recept tab:
  • Allt på en sida (all on one page, default): all ingredients and modifier groups are shown at once.
  • Steg för steg guide (step by step guide): the POS takes staff through the ingredients and one modifier group at a time. A required step must be chosen before staff can move on, and an optional step has Hoppa över (skip).
• An ingredient that can be swapped (Har alternativ in the recipe) is shown on its ingredient row with a Byt (swap) button, not as a group of its own. So don't add the same choice as a modifier group too, or the guest chooses twice.

Tips:

• Use minimum 1 for mandatory choices (e.g. cooking level for steak)
• Set price adjustment to 0 for choices that don't cost extra
• Keep modifier groups reasonably few – too many confuse staff
