SMS Receipt

Send the receipt to the guest via SMS instead of printing it – a digital receipt the guest opens right on their phone.

Step by step:

1. Complete the payment in the POS
2. On the receipt step, choose SMS as the delivery method
3. Enter the guest's phone number (e.g. "070-123 45 67" or "+46701234567")
4. Click Send
5. The guest receives an SMS with a receipt link. Check the result if the message cannot be sent.

What the SMS contains: The SMS is short and contains a link to the digital receipt, e.g.:

Tack för ditt besök på [Restaurant name]! Här är ditt kvitto: https://app.vendion.com/receipt/…

The link opens a mobile-friendly receipt page with:

• Restaurant name
• Date and receipt number
• All items, VAT and total
• Control code and verification code (fiscal law)
• Any discounts and tip

Does an SMS receipt create a customer? No. An SMS receipt sends only the receipt link – it does not create or link a customer profile, and the phone number is not saved as a customer. To link the visit to a guest in CRM, do that as a separate step – see Guest Linking – View Guest Info in POS.

Cost: A small per-message price per your price list.

Receipt copy afterwards: If the guest needs the receipt again later, you can send a receipt copy by SMS from order history – see Send a receipt copy by SMS afterwards.

GDPR: The guest provides their number to receive this specific receipt. For marketing SMS separate consent is required – see the Marketing module.
