Stamp Cards in POS – Earn and Redeem

    4 min read#19

Stamp cards integrate directly in the POS via the loyalty sidebar in the checkout view. Staff handle both stamps and reward redemption there — without going to any other view.

Where do staff find stamp cards?

    1. Open an order in the POS.
    2. Add the guest (via phone number / name).
    3. Open the checkout (click "Pay").
    4. The right column shows the loyalty sidebar:
      • Loyalty tier (if a member)
      • Point balance
      • Active stamp cards with stamp progress
      • Rewards ready to redeem

    What the sidebar looks like:

    Flow 1: Earn a stamp

    1. The order is ready to be paid (all items added).
    2. Staff sees stamp cards with progress (e.g. 7/10 stamps).
    3. Staff clicks "Give stamp".
    4. The system validates that the order meets the rule:
      • "Per paid order" → always OK
      • "Per category" → order must contain an item from the correct category
      • "Per menu item" → order must contain the specific item
      • "Per SEK threshold" → order must reach the threshold
    5. If OK: The stamp is registered (1 stamp per order, or more for per-item rule).
    6. The stamp counter on the card goes up.
    7. If the target is reached:
      • The reward is marked as ready.
      • Notifies staff: "🎉 Reward ready: Pizza Club"
    8. If not OK: Shows toast "The order does not meet the rule: ...".

    Flow 2: Redeem reward

When a reward is ready, "✓ REWARD READY" is shown on the stamp card in the sidebar.

    1. Staff clicks "Redeem reward".
    2. The system:
      • Logs the redemption.
      • Applies the reward on the order:
        • If free item: add the item with 100 % discount.
        • If discount %: apply discount on entire order or specific item.
    3. The loyalty sidebar updates immediately — the reward disappears, the stamp counter resets (or continues if more rewards are ready).
    4. The order's subtotal adjusts automatically.

    Flow 3: Manual adjustment (admin)

If staff makes a mistake (gives wrong stamp, gives stamp to wrong guest):

    1. Go to Admin → Marketing → Loyalty → Stamp Cards → [stamp card].
    2. Find the member via the search field.
    3. Adjust the stamp count manually.
    4. The adjustment is logged with a reason.

    Permissions:

To give a stamp and redeem a reward, the right POS permission is required. Junior staff without permission see the buttons but cannot click.

    Receipt:

When a reward is redeemed, the row is shown on the receipt:

1 × Free pizza (Stamp card reward) 0.00 kr

    Tips for staff:

    • Be proactive: Inform the guest "You need 2 more stamps for a free pizza!" — it encourages return visits.
    • On hesitation: Check the loyalty sidebar before summarizing the order — the guest should not have to remind you.
    • Put up posters: Lunch pass posters at the POS help market the program.
