    Loyalty Program – Settings

    3 min read#2

Program settings live under Marketing → Loyalty → Settings. One row per restaurant – all fields have sensible defaults but you control them fully.

    Open settings:

    1. Go to Marketing → Loyalty → Settings
    2. Toggle "Loyalty program active"

When inactive, no points are earned and tiers don't update.

    Earning

    Points per SEK (×100):

    • The field is entered ×100 – type 100 for 1 point per krona (default), 50 for 0.5 pt/kr, 200 for 2 pt/kr
    • Supports sub-point values (e.g. 25 = 0.25 pt/kr)
    • Note: do not type "1" if you want 1 point per krona – that would give 0.01 pt/kr

    Earn on alcohol:

    • Default: OFF (the helper text notes it's a grey area under the alcohol act)
    • Recommendation: keep off (legally and economically safer)
    • If on: all categories marked as alcohol count toward the earning base

    Category exclusion:

    • Gift-card rows never count (automatically) – regardless of setting
    • Alcohol is controlled by the toggle above (categories marked as alcohol)
    • There is currently no free-text field in settings to exclude your own categories

    Points expire after (months):

    • Default: 24 months
    • Points expire after N months of inactivity (last earn)
    • A nightly expire check processes all balances

    Redemption

    Value per point:

    • Default: 10 öre per point (= 100 points become 10 SEK discount)
    • Can be lowered (5 öre = 2,000 points per 100 SEK discount) or raised (20 öre = 500 points per 100 SEK discount)

    Example (default): 1 pt per kr, 100 pts = 10 SEK → 1 % cashback. Raise to 100 pts = 50 SEK → 5 % cashback – generous but popular in premium segments.

    Minimum redemption:

    • Default: 100 points
    • Guest can't redeem less than this
    • Higher value (e.g. 500) prevents micro-redemptions that create tiny discounts in the POS

    Max redemption (% of order):

    • Default: 50 % of order total
    • Prevents the entire order from being "paid" with points (which would create zero-SEK sales)
    • 100 = allow full discount (not recommended)

    Validation

Max redemption must be between 1 and 100 % (the database refuses to save a value outside that range and you get an error). The other fields have sensible defaults but are not auto-validated in the interface – enter sane values yourself (positive point rate, positive value per point, and positive expiry).

    Practical recommendations

Tip: Start conservatively (1 % cashback). You can always raise it – lowering after launch is PR-hard.

Save: Click Save settings. Changes affect only future earning – existing points keep their value.
