Choose a Device – POS, Kitchen Screen or Express

One and the same tablet or screen can be different things in your restaurant – a POS, a kitchen display or an express kiosk. On the device-select page you decide which role this particular screen should have.

How to choose a device

1. From the home screen, tap the app you want to open (POS, KDS or Express).
2. You reach a view with all devices of that type.
3. Each device appears as a card with a status:
   • Available – no one is using it
   • In use by [name] – someone else is logged in
   • You're using this – you're already active on this screen
4. Tap the device you want to use.
5. If the device is in use by someone else, you'll be asked whether you want to take it over. If you confirm, the other screen is logged out.

If there's only one available device of the type you chose, you're usually connected straight away – without an extra click.

Good to know

• Devices are created by Vendion (or your manager) in advance. You select and activate them here – you don't need to create anything yourself.
• Seeing No devices configured? Ask your manager to add the device under Settings → Team & Devices, or contact Vendion.
• Don't have permission to bind a POS? Ask a manager to prepare it for you – then you can log in with your PIN at the till.

Once you've taken over a device, you land straight in the right view: the POS, the kitchen screen or the express kiosk.
