Staff News – Internal Messages in the Portal
Vendion's news feed replaces the group chat and the note in the staff room. You publish a post, staff see it in the portal and get a push notification in the app.
You find it under Personal ▸ Meddelanden. Publishing requires the permission to manage announcements.
Publish a news post:
- Go to Personal ▸ Meddelanden
- Click Ny nyhet (New post)
- Fill in Rubrik (title) and Text
- Choose Mottagare (recipients):
| Choice | Who sees the post |
|---|---|
| Alla anställda | The entire staff |
| Per roll | Only a selected role, e.g. all chefs |
| Enskild person | One specific employee |
- Choose how the post should behave:
- Tillåt gilla – staff can react
- Tillåt kommentera – they can reply in the thread
- Pinna högst i flödet – the post stays at the top
- Publish
Staff get a push notification in the mobile app and see the post in the portal.
After publishing:
On each post you can:
- Pin or unpin – control what stays on top
- Edit – correct the text afterwards
- Delete – the post disappears from the feed
- Comments – read and moderate replies
- Resend notifications – reach those who missed the post the first time
The post shows how many have seen, liked and commented on it.
Comments and moderation:
If you allow comments, the post becomes a thread. Staff reply directly in the portal instead of calling or texting you.
Moderation requires the permission to moderate comments. With it you can remove individual comments, for example if the tone derails or someone shares details that do not belong in an open feed.
Don't want discussion on a particular post – turn off comments when you create it.
What the news feed is not:
This is one-way communication with the option to reply – not a chat and not an SMS broadcast.
- News goes to the portal and as a push notification, not as SMS or email
- There is no acknowledgment feature forcing staff to confirm they have read it
- Posts cannot be scheduled for future publication
If you need to reach someone immediately and reliably – call. If you need to document that a person has taken note of something binding, such as an employment term, use employment contracts instead; those support signing with proof.
Tips:
- Pin what stays relevant – the week's menu, new routines, the holiday schedule. Let the rest scroll by
- Use role as recipient – the kitchen rarely needs to read about bar routines, and a feed full of irrelevant posts stops being read
- Turn off comments on pure information posts – otherwise the message drowns in thread replies
- Resend the notification rather than writing a new post when something was missed – it keeps the history together
This feature is part of Vendion Staff.
