Card Payments
Take Card Payments at the Register
2 min read#3
When the guest pays by card, the register sends the amount straight to the connected card terminal.
Step by step:
- Open the bill and click Pay (or the register icon).
- Choose card as the payment method.
- The amount is sent to the terminal. You'll see the message "Follow the instructions on the terminal".
- The guest taps, inserts or swipes the card and approves it on the terminal.
- Once the payment is approved, the bill is completed automatically and the receipt is created.
Have several terminals connected to the register? Then you first choose which terminal the amount should go to, and the flow continues as above.
Receipt and control code: The receipt is created just like with every other payment method – with a control code from the control box, a receipt number and VAT. You can print it on the receipt printer or send it as an SMS receipt to the guest.
If something goes wrong:
- Card declined – ask the guest to try again or use another card.
- Payment cancelled – start again from Pay.
- Terminal is busy – wait until the previous payment is finished.
The bill is never completed unless the card is approved – you can always try again or choose another payment method.
