Settlement and Payouts
When guests pay by card, each individual payment doesn't land in your account right away. Instead, your card sales are collected and paid out to your bank account on a schedule. This is called settlement or payout.
How it works:
- All card payments over a period are collected.
- The total is paid out to the bank account you entered when you activated card payments (KYC).
- The money lands in the account according to the payout schedule.
What's needed for payouts to work: In the Payment readiness box under Finance → Card payments you can see whether everything is ready. When it says "Ready for card payments", your payout account is verified and the money can be paid out. If anything is missing, it's listed there, for example:
- Payout account not verified (complete KYC)
- Business verification in progress
Where do I see my payouts? Detailed reports of individual payouts and transactions are available in your acquiring account (Customer Area), which Vendion sets up for you. In the app you see your sales under Finance and in your reports.
Good to know:
- There's a difference between sales (what the guest paid at the register) and payout (when the money lands in the bank) – they happen at different times.
- Vendion monitors the payout side for you and reaches out if something needs attention, such as a guest dispute (chargeback).
