Type code on events

A system connected to Vendion with an API key, for example the chain's event tool, can add new occurrences of your events, for example a new quiz night. The system points out which event it means with the event's type code. Without a type code the system can see the event but cannot add occurrences of it.

What you need

• The restaurant has Vendion Integration.
• The system has an API key with the Skapa, ändra och ta bort event (Create, change and delete events) permission. See API keys in chain admin.
• The event already exists in Vendion and is active (Aktiv is on). The system adds occurrences of existing events, not new events.

Add the type code

1. Go to Bordsbokning → Events & Resurser → Events (Table booking → Events & Resources → Events) and open the event.
2. On the Detaljer (Details) tab, in the Grunduppgifter (Basic details) section, fill in Typkod för API (Type code for API), for example "quiz".
3. Tap Spara (Save).
4. Give the type code to the person setting up the system. The system can also fetch the restaurant's events and their type codes itself.

Rules for the type code:

• Only lowercase letters (a–z), digits, hyphen (-) and underscore (_), at most 40 characters. A space you type becomes a hyphen, and capital letters become lowercase.
• A type code can only be on one event in the restaurant. If you see Ett annat event i restaurangen har redan den typkoden. Välj en annan. (Another event in the restaurant already has that type code. Choose another.) another event already has the code.
• The field is optional. If you leave it empty, the system cannot add occurrences of the event.

The same type code across the chain

Use the same type code for the same kind of event in all the chain's restaurants, for example "quiz" everywhere. Then the system can add a quiz night in any of the restaurants with the same code. Each restaurant needs its own event with the code.

What the occurrence gets from the event

The system sets the title, date, start and end time and number of places, and can also set a description and an image. The rest comes from the event in Vendion, for example price, payment, seating mode and max guests per booking. Arrival time and booking window follow the event's settings unless the system sets its own.

Occurrences the system created

On the event's Tillfällen (Occurrences) tab, occurrences the system created are labelled Från API · [system name] (From API), for example Från API · Eventverktyget. The name is the one the API client was given when it was created. Occurrences you added yourselves have no label.

Guests book these occurrences like any other, and you can open and change them as usual. The system can also change and delete occurrences. The system can neither delete an occurrence that has bookings nor move it to another day or time. Handle the bookings in Vendion first.
