Turn On Push Notifications in the Mobile App

    2 min read#14

With Vendion's mobile app you can get push notifications right on your phone, so you don't miss important updates even when the app is closed.

    Allow notifications

When you log in to the mobile app, your phone asks whether Vendion may send alerts. Tap Allow and you're set.

Turn on and off in the app

Beyond the phone's permission, there's a dedicated Push notifications toggle in the Staff portal (under your notification settings). There you can turn push for staff alerts off or on yourself – independent of the phone's system setting. Both need to be on for notifications to arrive.

If you accidentally said no on the phone

Declined notifications the first time? Then turn them on via your phone's settings:

On iPhone: Settings → VendionNotifications → turn on Allow Notifications.

On Android: Settings → AppsVendionNotifications → turn on.

What you can be notified about

    • To your phone (staff): a newly published schedule, shifts and shift swaps, absence notices, agreements to sign and staff news.
    • To the till (POS): operational alerts such as new online orders, a guest wanting to pay and tables left inactive too long. These land on the till screen, not on your personal phone.

When you tap a notification, the app often takes you straight to the right view.

    Good to know

    • Push works in the mobile app (the one you downloaded), not in a regular browser on a computer.
    • Getting no notifications even though you allowed them? Check both the phone's notifications for Vendion and the Push notifications toggle in the Staff portal.

Tip: First download the app (see the article on installing the app) – that's the best way to get push.
