Overview – Chains in Vendion
Chain operations is Vendion's module for anyone running more than one restaurant under a shared brand or parent company. It's a brand new feature family launching in 2026, targeting franchisors, holding companies, master franchisees, and multi-unit operators.
What is a chain in Vendion?
A chain is an optional umbrella entity that groups multiple restaurants under centralized management – with varying levels of control and local flexibility. You can choose to share menu, brand, loyalty, and gift cards between units, or only selected parts.
Who is it for?
| Audience | Typical use |
|---|---|
| Franchisors | Brand standardization, central menu, oversight of all units |
| Holding companies | Shared financials, pooled loyalty, intercompany settlements |
| Master franchisees | Sub-franchising a brand to multiple locations |
| Multi-unit owners | Operational efficiency, consolidated reporting |
Important – optional: Restaurants without a chain link work exactly as before. Chain membership is fully optional. This means Vendion can launch chains without disrupting existing single-restaurant customers.
Swedish legal context
Swedish franchise structures typically look like:
- Franchisetagare – franchise holder running under the brand (may own one or multiple units)
- Moderbolag – parent company owning brand, IP, supply chain
- Samkörning – consolidated P&L across units
Vendion's chain model maps directly to this:
- Chain owner – parent company or franchisor (can designate chain admins)
- Chain members – people linked to the chain
- Chain-scoped permissions – granular rights per restaurant or group
Example: "Burger Buffet Holding AB" with 5 restaurants
- Shared menu managed centrally (franchise type)
- Each restaurant is its own legal entity (AB with own org number)
- Brand lock ensures all 5 use the same logo, colors, and name
- Guest gift cards can be sold at one unit and redeemed at another
- Monthly report: 5 separate P&Ls plus one consolidated view
