Multi-restaurant, shared menu, brand lock, chain gift cards and consolidated reporting
Chain operations is Vendion's module for franchises, holding companies, and multi-unit operators. Group restaurants under centralized management with local overrides.
Every chain has a type that presets four sharing flags: franchise (everything shared), holding (loyalty + gift cards), custom (you choose).
As chain owner, you contact Vendion support to set up your chain. Within 1-2 business days the chain is ready, admin group created, and you can log in at /chain/:slug.
The chain owner gets a dedicated console at /chain/:slug with dashboard, menu template, brand, gift cards, economy, members, and settings.
To attach a restaurant to your chain, contact Vendion support. Within 1-2 business days the unit is attached and shared features activate based on chain flags.
Chain members in the Admin group get full admin on all member restaurants via inherited rights. Manage on the chain members page.
The menu template is the chain's master menu. Build centrally and publish to member restaurants. Local units can have their own complementary dishes beyond the template.
Publish the menu template to selected member restaurants. Run dry-run first for preview. Locked fields overwritten, unlocked preserved.
Every published menu item has a list of locked fields. Locked fields are overwritten on publish, unlocked preserved locally. Local admins can edit unlocked fields – including price, image, description.
The chain owner centrally locks logo, colors, fonts, restaurant name, and AI personality. Local units cannot deviate from the brand. Managed on the chain brand page.
Chain gift cards are sold at one unit and redeemed at another. When org numbers differ, an intercompany transaction is automatically created for month-end.
Pooled loyalty lets guests accumulate points across all member restaurants in the chain. Planned for Q2-Q3 2026. Base architecture ready; feature under development.
Chain admin sees consolidated sales, per-unit breakdown, top items across the entire chain, and daily trends. Enables unit benchmarking and product rationalization.
At month-end, Vendion automatically reconciles chain transactions between companies. Provides receivable/payable vouchers for each unit's bookkeeping plus SIE/CSV export.
At /chain/:slug/installningar the chain owner manages the four sharing flags, intercompany accounts, and base info. Toggle on/off for menu sharing, brand lock, loyalty, gift cards.
When a restaurant leaves a chain (e.g. franchise termination), it's detached by Vendion support. Local menu items and gift cards are kept, but chain links break.

All chain functionality is protected by access control at the database level. Chain members inherit rights to member restaurants, and chains can never see each other's data.
