Sell Items in Catering

A buffet is sold per person, sandwich cake by the slice and finger food by the piece. With Säljs i catering (Sold in catering) you define how an item is sold in catering.

Mark an item:

1. Open Admin → Meny → Produkter (Menu → Products) and open the item
2. Choose the Online & gäst (Online & guest) tab
3. In the Catering section, turn on Säljs i catering (Sold in catering)
4. Choose Enhet (Unit): Per styck (Per piece) or Per person
5. Fill in Minsta antal (Minimum quantity) if needed, for example 10. Empty means no minimum
6. Click Spara (Save)

The Catering section only appears when the restaurant has the catering module.

What it affects:

• In orders: the item is listed first in Lägg till från menyn (Add from menu). A per person item gets the number of covers and follows it if the number changes. A per-piece item starts at its minimum quantity
• On the inquiry page: if Visa cateringartiklar (Show catering items) is on under Catering → Inställningar (Settings), the item is shown with a preliminary price. The guest chooses quantities, and the items become lines in the inquiry. See Receive Catering Inquiries

Price and VAT: The item's price is suggested in the order, and you can change the unit price there. The price the guest sees on the inquiry page is preliminary; the final price is in the quote. VAT follows the item's product group and the order's fulfilment method.

Good to know:

• Any menu item can be added to an order. The marking controls order, unit and the inquiry page
• Combos and gift cards can't be sold in catering
• If you duplicate an item, the catering settings are copied too
