New Essens opens in Borås. Vendion from day one.

Why did Essens in Borås choose Vendion?
Essens is a new à la carte restaurant in Villastaden in Borås, Sweden, with the same owner as the lunch restaurant Andra Våningen. Jennie Wallin has tried many POS systems over the years. This time, the deciding factor was getting a provider that understands the restaurant business and can help her get a new à la carte restaurant up and running.
Borås is getting a new à la carte restaurant. Essens is opening in Villastaden, and behind it is Jennie Wallin, the restaurateur who already runs the lunch restaurant Andra Våningen in town.
Lunch and à la carte are two different worlds. Lunch is about speed: many guests, little time and a handful of dishes. À la carte is about the table: bookings, seatings, several courses and a bill to be split.
She has seen many systems
Jennie has tried many different POS systems over the years. She knows what a system looks like in a demo, and how it works on a Friday night when every table is full.
That is why the feature list was not what decided it this time. She wanted a provider that understands the restaurant business from the inside and could help Essens get started: from the menu and floor plan to how the floor staff should work on opening night.
It is also why the first meeting was not a video call. We drove to Borås and sat down with Jennie in person.
What Essens looks like in Vendion
Payment at the table. The floor staff have two Vendion AIO devices, the entire POS in a handheld unit. The order is taken at the table, the ticket goes straight to the kitchen and bar, and the guest pays by card on the same device. The receipt prints on the spot.
Table booking. Guests book online. Table booking seats every party at the table that leaves the fewest empty chairs, and the booking shows up straight away on the floor plan in the POS.
A certified register in the bar. The bar has a stationary POS. It syncs with the handheld devices in real time, so everyone sees the same tables and the same orders.
All in the same system. No register to reconcile against the booking list after closing.
"Jennie has seen enough systems to know what it looks like when the POS does not understand the restaurant. Opening a new à la carte restaurant is a big step, even for an experienced restaurateur. Our job is to make sure technology is the last thing on her mind when the first guests walk in."
Mikael Selander, CEO and founder of Vendion
For restaurateurs with ambition
Jennie could have settled for a lunch restaurant that works. Instead, she is opening another one, with a completely different rhythm.
That is the kind of restaurateur Vendion is built for.
Welcome to Vendion, Jennie and everyone at Essens.
