Café Nizza switches to Vendion. One system, more guests.

Why is Café Nizza in Södermalm switching to Vendion?
Café Nizza on Åsögatan in Södermalm, Stockholm, is switching to Vendion to bring POS, table booking and staff into the same system. Another deciding factor was the AI optimization of seatings in table booking. It seats every party at the table that leaves the fewest empty chairs, which makes room for more parties on the same night.
Octopus with celeriac and pastis. Rigatoni with salsiccia ragù. Wines from small producers, many of them natural wines.
On Åsögatan in Södermalm, Stockholm, you will find Café Nizza, the neighborhood restaurant with Southern European flavors. Around the corner, on Borgmästargatan, are its sister venues Cave Nizza and Trattoria Sperandio.
Now Café Nizza is switching to Vendion.
POS, booking and staff. In the same system.
Until now, the POS and table booking have lived in separate systems from separate providers. That means two logins and two places where the same guest exists, without the systems knowing about each other.
Now everything comes together in Vendion 360: the POS, table booking and staff in the same system. The table booked online is the same table the bill lands on at the register. The schedule and staff register sit in the same place as the sales.
In the dining room, staff take orders and payments right at the table with Vendion AIO, the entire POS in a handheld device with a card reader and receipt printer. The ticket goes straight to the kitchen.
Seatings that sort themselves out
An evening at Café Nizza is a puzzle. Parties of two, four and six book online, larger groups send an email, and as the restaurant writes on its own site, they always leave a little room for walk-ins.
With an ordinary booking list, a party lands at the first free table. Seat a couple at a table for four, and two chairs stay empty for the rest of the seating. It can happen several times in one evening, and those chairs cannot be won back.
Vendion's table booking does the opposite. With every booking, the engine picks the table that leaves the fewest empty chairs. It combines tables when a larger party arrives and saves the big tables for the big parties. During the evening it keeps optimizing, swapping tables wherever that frees up the most room. The guest's time never changes. What the guest booked is what they get.
When the team at Café Nizza saw how many chairs it freed up, it came as a real shock, in the good way. More parties fit in the same dining room, and nobody has to sit with the floor plan moving notes around before service.
Simple, because everything is connected
Just as important as the chairs is the simplicity. One provider, one login and one place to ask.
Because booking, POS and staff are in the same system, AI Boss can answer questions about the whole restaurant. Ask what tonight looks like, how many parties are booked on Saturday or how sales went yesterday, and you get an answer built on Café Nizza's own numbers.
"A restaurant like Café Nizza is full on the nights that really matter. That is when every chair is worth something. Seeing their reaction when the engine laid out the evening's tables and suddenly found room for more parties, that is why we build this."
Mikael Selander, CEO and founder of Vendion
For restaurateurs with ambition
Café Nizza already has the hardest thing to build: a restaurant the neighborhood keeps coming back to. Now they are making room for more.
That is the kind of restaurateur Vendion is built for.
