Split Bill in Detail – Even or By Item

The split bill is one of the most-used POS features. Vendion has three split modes – use whichever fits the situation.

Mode 1 – Quick Split ("Snabbdela")

The fastest way to split evenly – divide the whole tab into equal shares in a couple of taps, without opening the detailed split view. Great when the party just wants to split the total equally.

1. Open the tab in the POS
2. Tap Split
3. Choose Snabbdela
4. Enter the number of people
5. Take payment from each share separately

Mode 2 – Even Split ("Dela lika")

Perfect when a party wants to split straight down the middle and you want to see the per-person breakdown.

1. Open the tab in the POS
2. Tap Split
3. Choose Dela lika
4. Enter number of people (e.g. 4)
5. Vendion calculates per-person amount
6. Take payment from each person separately

Example: Tab 1,240 SEK, 4 people → 310 SEK each.

Rounding: If the total doesn't divide evenly (e.g. 1,241 / 4 = 310.25) the remainder is assigned to the first person: 311 + 310 + 310 + 310 = 1,241. You see the distribution before taking payment.

Mode 3 – By Item ("Splitta per artikel")

Perfect when everyone pays for what they ate.

1. Open the tab
2. Tap Split
3. Choose Splitta per artikel
4. Vendion shows two columns:
   • Left: Shared tab (all items)
   • Right: Person 1 (empty initially)
5. Drag items from left to right – or tap + next to the item to move it
6. Tap New person to add Person 2, 3 etc.
7. When all items are allocated, tap Pay on each person separately

Shared items (fractional split):

If one item is shared between several people – e.g. a 495 SEK bottle of wine for 3 people:

1. Drag the bottle to Person 1
2. Change quantity to 1/3
3. Drag it also to Person 2 and Person 3 (same way)
4. Price is split: 495 / 3 = 165 SEK each

Note: Totals can be off by a cent due to division – Vendion handles rounding automatically.

Combine both modes:

You can split some items by person and the rest evenly. Example:

• 3 people each had their own main (by item)
• 1 bottle of wine shared evenly (fractional)
• It's added to each person's tab automatically

Discounts in split bills:

An order-level discount is distributed proportionally when you split:

• Tab 1,000 SEK with 10% discount → 900 SEK
• Split 3 ways → 300 SEK each
• (Each person pays 300, not 333 with the discount "on them")

An item-level discount follows the item to whoever gets it.

Tips in split bills:

Tips are calculated per split payment, not on the total. If Person 1 tips 30 and Person 2 tips 0, only 30 SEK goes to the tip pool.

Receipts:

Each person gets their own receipt (or SMS receipt) with:

• Their items
• Their amount
• Their payment method

The bond is assembled behind the scenes – the kitchen got the order when it was bonged, so they don't see splits.

Parking splits:

You can park a split mid-flow. If one person needs to step away before paying:

1. Tap Park
2. The tab goes to Parked Tabs with a split marker
3. When they come back – resume and continue taking payment

Which mode when?

Tip: Talk to the guest before hitting Split. It's hard to change mode mid-flow.
