Vendion vs Ancon: compare POS and restaurant platforms

What is the difference between Vendion and Ancon?

Both offer cloud-based restaurant POS systems. Vendion also brings reservations, staff management, marketing, analytics and AI into the same system. Ancon describes its own POS, ordering and analytics products alongside integrations with services such as reservation and staff systems. An important part of the comparison is therefore how restaurant workflows connect and which components the proposed solution includes.

This comparison is written by Vendion. Information about Ancon's offering is based on its public product and integration descriptions, reviewed on 13 September 2026.

    The experience behind Vendion

Mikael Selander, Vendion's founder and CEO, was CEO of Ancon for seven years, from 2015 to 2021. During that time, he initiated Ancon G2 and Ancon Cloud and served as their product owner. He was responsible for interface design and product direction, leading the company as the platforms were developed and launched together with the development teams.

Vendion was founded and launched in 2026 and is his third restaurant platform. It draws on experience from the previous two generations: developing the product, putting it into operation and understanding what a working day in a restaurant requires.

With Vendion, the scope covers more of the business. POS, reservations, staff and guest relationships are designed to work together, from planning before service to reviewing the results afterwards. Read more about the background to Vendion.

One platform for the restaurant's work

Vendion's ambition is uncompromising: the restaurant's core workflows should connect. That means its own reservation, staff and marketing modules working with information from the POS. You choose the modules your business needs.

This creates practical opportunities in everyday operations:

    • Reservations and service. Reservations and recorded guest details are available in the POS table view, helping staff prepare for the visit and follow it through the evening.
    • Staff and reporting. Scheduling, hours worked and payroll preparation are handled in the staff module. Sales and recorded staff costs can be reviewed together.
    • Marketing and return visits. Guest profiles, segments and campaigns are in the same system. Configured automations can, for example, follow up a visit or contact a relevant guest group.

Ancon's public offering includes both its own products and connections to external services. It describes booking integrations with services including BokaBord/WaiterAid and easytable. For staff management, the company describes integrations with external staff systems.

The table shows documented approaches, not a complete feature inventory. An integration can be valuable if you want to keep a system you already use. Ask both suppliers to show which information is transferred, what requires a separate service and who is responsible for the overall solution.

AI that helps with everyday work

Vendion AI has three roles: support for the restaurateur, staff and guests. The restaurateur can work with questions about sales and reservations, staff can look up menu information, and guests can get help with menu choices and ordering.

In Vendion Marketing, AI can help with guest summaries and campaign suggestions. Automations carry out recurring tasks according to rules set by the restaurant. Available workflows depend on the selected modules, permissions and configuration.

Evaluate AI by trying a specific task. Ask to see the information behind an answer, what the system can actually do and how you review the result. This makes the comparison useful regardless of which supplier is demonstrating the solution.

Reliability and support should be open to review

Reliability is Vendion's highest priority. All paying customers have access to staffed support around the clock. Current service information is available on Vendion's status page. Ancon also states that it offers round-the-clock support.

Discuss how the restaurant should work if its internet connection, a payment terminal or a printer has a problem. Ask for clear contact channels, incident procedures and relevant customer references. A status page provides information for follow-up; it does not replace a review of the conditions in your restaurant.

Compare the setup you will actually use

Calculate costs for the same number of POS stations and the same reservation, staff, marketing and payment requirements. Include equipment, integrations, onboarding and recurring charges. Vendion's modules have no fixed commitment period; equipment and payment services need to be assessed under their respective agreements. Current scope is set out in the price list.

If you want to bring more of the restaurant's work together with one supplier, that is the complete workflow we want to show you. Bring an evening's reservations, a menu and a staff schedule. See Vendion live and follow the work from planning through service and reporting.
