25 updates in 62 days – keeping restaurant operations in focus

How can a POS system evolve quickly while prioritising reliability?
By testing changes before production and following up on how the system works during service. Vendion reported 25 production updates between 6 July and 6 September 2026. That number describes development activity; current service information and published monitoring history are available on the status page.
Lysekil, 6 September 2026 – Vendion’s summary for 6 July–6 September reports 25 production updates. For a restaurant, their value is what changes during a shift: less duplicate work, clearer information and fewer steps that interrupt service.
The till needs to work when guests are here
An interruption during dinner affects more than payments. Staff need to manage open bills, explain delays and coordinate with the kitchen. That is why reliability is Vendion’s first priority as the product develops.
“This is the third platform I've built for the restaurant industry. I've stood in that situation enough times to know exactly what it costs,” says Mikael Selander, founder and CEO of Vendion. “We can build all the clever technology in the world, but if the till doesn't work at seven on a Friday, none of it is worth anything.”
Development goes through a separate test environment before production. This provides space to check changes before they are used in live operations. Testing needs to cover complete workflows: ordering, kitchen information, payment, receipts and reporting.
Four areas of summer development
Staff and payroll preparation. Schedules, worked hours and approvals need to connect. Vendion Staff focuses on the records created during the restaurant’s working day and their transfer to payroll. Payroll records are not a completed payroll run: the person responsible still needs to check settings, agreements and exceptions.
Bookings that support service. A reservation list becomes more useful when staff can also see the tables and manage changes. Vendion Booking brings reservations into the same system as the restaurant’s other workflows, making that information available when planning the evening.
Marketing and loyalty. Campaigns, segments and loyalty programmes need to be manageable day to day. Vendion Marketing connects these activities to the system the restaurant already uses. Rewards and communications need clear rules for both staff and guests.
Financial reporting. Sales, payment methods and VAT need to be traceable and reconciled. Clearer reports make discrepancies easier to investigate; they do not replace reconciliation or responsibility for the accounts.
AI should provide useful information
Our three AI agents are part of the platform. Their value is relevant answers and help with tasks, rather than a count of technical tools. A proposed schedule, report or campaign draft should be available for the right person to check and use.
Follow operational performance over time
A development announcement is not an availability guarantee. Vendion’s status page shows current service status and the monitoring history published there. Vendion requires an internet connection, so the restaurant’s connection and local equipment are also part of reliable service.
All paying customers have access to staffed support around the clock. To see how the workflows connect, see Vendion live.
