Shift templates save time. Instead of filling in start, end, break and station for each shift, you can reuse preset shifts that match the restaurant's rhythm. Vendion has two levels of templates: shift templates (individual shifts) and week templates (entire week schedules).
Level 1: Shift templates (individual shifts)
Typical shifts in a restaurant: morning, lunch, evening, closing. Create a template per shift type so you don't have to fill in the same times over and over.
Create a shift template:
Using a shift template:
| Method | How |
|---|---|
| In shift dialog | When creating a new shift, select template from dropdown – all fields auto-fill |
| Drag template to schedule | Drag the template from side panel directly to desired cell (person × day) |
| Quick button | Select multiple cells and click the template to fill them all at once |
Edit a shift template: Changes only affect future usage – already-created shifts remain unchanged.
Tip: Name the template so you instantly see what it is. "Lunch floor 11–15 + 30 min break" is clearer than "Shift 1".
Level 2: Week templates (entire weeks)
When you have solid weekly schedules – e.g. "Normal autumn service" or "Summer week with outdoor seating" – save the entire week as a template and reuse it.
Save a week as template:
All shifts in the week are saved with times, roles, stations and patterns. People don't need to be the same when the template is reused – the system helps redistribute shifts to active employees.
Using a week template:
Typical week templates to save:
| Template | Use |
|---|---|
| Normal low season | Fall/winter with regular hours |
| High season | Summer, more shifts, longer hours |
| Event week | Extra staff for larger bookings |
| Holiday week | Christmas, New Year, Easter – different times and roles |
Tip: Combine with Copy previous week for a quick similar week. Save the week as a template only when you know the schedule works – then you have a solid starting point for the entire season.
